Finally watched the Forgotten Island movie, i've bee waiting for this the moment i knew this is going to be about filipino culture and creatures i know i need to watch this cause im sucker for filipino mythologies and creatures kasi feeling ko konti lang nag tatackle about this, so knowing that its about these stories ive been really anticipating the release date of it, and finally napanood ko na siya. So i'll be sharing my initial thoughts about it here kung baga first impression sa movie? hahahahhaha. Anyway this is my opinion about the movie.
Honestly ang daming nangyayari ahhaha, feeling ko din ang fast pace nung movie but still i gotta say its a good movie. Maraming parts na nakakatuwa kasi talagang mafefeel mo yung pagka Philippine centric nung movie ang daming details niya and i think its perfectly executed dito sa film which is nakaka-proud talaga kasi very rare na makita mo sa international film ang story about Philippines or yung pinakang culture niya, madalas kasi natotouch lang or sometime dahil may lahing pinoy yung gumanap mga ganung eksena, and dito sa film talagang its all about Filipinos and culture plus the myths and creatures na meron tayo.
STORY
For me the story has a common story but what's special lang is adding the story about sa Philippine myths and creatures and also pinoy culture very nostalgic feeling din as it is set in late 2000. Kasi yung story is about the 2 bffs tapos nakalakihan na nilang yung story about sa Nakali island from their Lola and they wanted na sana totoo yung island at makapunta sila tapos nung nakapunta na sila doon para makabalik syempre dapat may kapalit and that includes yung makalimutan yung memories mo, parang may mga similar stories na kasi na ganito. I thought din kasi mas mafofocus more sa mga creatures itong movie, but still a fun movie parin, very light and fun movie pa rin siya for me.
You know feeling ko inspired to sa Biringan City e, yung the lost city diba doon daw nakatira yung mga engkanto tapos nawawala din yung mga tao don, similar din sa movie na yung Nakali island is need pa ng portal para lumabas para makapunta sa island and home of the creatures din tho dito memories nga lang yung nawawala.
CHARACTERS
I felt that marami pang pwedeng gawin sa mga characters dito aside kila Jo and Raissa lalo na sa mga creatures, feeling ko din madaming side character, for me si Raww yung dog is enough, pero nakasama pa nila sa mini adventure si Bungi and Mermanh na feeling ko konti ng screentiem nila i still love their characters, Team Wild Pack hahahah, feel ko lang na mas okay kung may in depth pa sila kasi stand out na sila as side characters e what more if yung story is more detailed pa. Baka magkaron ng part two tapos focus na sa mga creatures hahhahha i'd love that for sure manonood pa rin ako
Tapos si Manang pa parang ang bilis ng story niya, parang lahat glimpse yung mga character kasi hahahaha, so if magakron pa to ng kasunod na focused sakanila matutuwa talaga ko. Or maybe akala ko lang talaga focused to sa creatures kaya parang nabilisan ako sa mga stories nila. Kayo ba?
OST
Wow wow wow! Grabe alam ko pag animation talagang mhaalaga yung ost kasi parang yun ang isa sa mga tumatatak sa isang film. Sobrang chills makarinig ng kanta na may maririnig ka na tagalog lyrics tapos international film pa. Narinig ko na yung kanta ng BINI pero mas iba yung feeling pag narinig mo yun doon mismo sa movie. Sobrang saya lang! sobrang proud!
OVERALL
I'd give this movie 4/5. Highly reccomend to watch it cause its pretty good movie. Ang dami lang nangyayari for me that I dont't have a stand out scene hahaha i dont know if its a bad thing kasi it makes me wanna watch it again kasi i feel like sa unang panood madami akong na-miss na details e hahahhaa. Ang ganda kasi ng movie walang boring moments usually sa mga animation pag sa sine ko pinapanood may mga moments na ganon pero dito wala, iaanticipate mo yung mga next scenes, madami ding funny moments dito tapos ang colorful pa, very fast paced lang talaga siya for me. Tapos siguro din i feel like mag fofocus sa creatures pero hindi more on sa story ng friendship ni Jo and Raissa siya nakafocus. I'm just so happy lang na this is such a great representation sa Philippines hindi lang kasi siya may touch ng pinas very pinoy talaga siya, tapos nakakatuwa kasi most of the cast are may mga dugong pinoy din, even the creators and directors, kaya nakakaproud tong movie na to kasi pang international level to e.
I really need a 2nd watch nito, kung makahanap ako ng extra money i'll definitely watch again. Feeling ko iba na yung magiging atake niya sa akin sa 2nd watch ko. I also think na this movie gives me such rewatchable vibe movie yung hindi ako magsasawang paulit-ulitin. This is gonna be a classic movie for me!
So tayo na at manood ng Forgotten Island!
